Fresh Friday Finds

I always love to find new and interesting art prints on Etsy. I especially love the ones you can just look at for hours and find new details in them. This Mermaid Folk Art Print is one of them. Did you see the frog and the cat yet? See what I mean!

Another passion of mine (one among many, I know) are journals. Just love the idea of being able to jot down my thoughts at any given moment and make note of all those great designs that come in the oddest places. I do have a few journals, but using them just isn't working out right now for me. I like to believe that I just haven't found the right format of a journal yet. Maybe this one is it? I love the blue soft leather, hand drawn design, and ripped paper of this Leather Journal.

Guess what this is - a beautiful Halter Apron with the cutest birdies of all on my favorite color! These aprons are the rage right now and really such a statement when you have a little dinner party or just because. Got to click to see the entire piece!

Fresh Friday Finds

It is just about time for some Fresh Friday Finds and I sure have amazed so many new 'gotta have them right now' favorites, I don't know where to start!

You all know how much I love bangles! I got beautiful gold bangles from India, colorful Enamel bangles and now I just long for one of these
Skinny Bangles. They look so sophisticated with the faceted stones in the center. Just perfect layered with all kinds of bangles for this season.

Every time I see one of Sascalia's Collage Paintings I have to smile cheek to cheek. They are so cheerful and filled with color. I love all the little details and this one here is one of my favorites.

This Journey Journal I just had to show. What a great idea! You can put in the tags in the places you visited and connect them with the string. If I ever go on a road trip, this is what I need!

Fresh Friday Finds

You might know from previous posts (just seeing if you pay attention ;) that my family is quite fond of owl. I love this one in this
Owl Locket Charm Necklace with its big eyes and sterilized form. This would look so good on me!

I have been ohhing and ahhing over Geninne's watercolor work for quite some time now, but this Finn Watercolor Print is just screaming to live in my office. Those are my favorite colors and adding watercolor to a vintage postcard is just genius. Love it!

These little Bear Brooches are very dear to me. First of all, they are made of felt, one of my most cherished materials. And they are just sooooo cute! But if you wonder about the little rabbits around the bear, you have to start reading the stories that come with the bears. Those are the best! You will see, soon you have to read through each description and spend hours in this shop. This is better than reading a book and I actually hope this little stories will come out in a children's/adult's-at-heart book. They are just too precious.

Fresh Friday Finds - Get ready for a pool party!

Our Florida vacation was great and I can't wait to post some pictures - but today is Friday, so we need some Fresh Friday Finds first. So really, now I feel like a pool party! I'm still so in vacation mood that all I can think of are palm trees, flip flops and the ocean. So let's get ready for a pool party!

First off, we need some invitation, because planing and all is half the fun! I especially like these beachy Treat Bag Toppers. Just add a note with the details and some sand and you have some really special invites.

And then you need food! TheseLuau Party Cookies are the most colorful and detailed cookies I've seen. I love how they put you right into the party swing. I can hear the bongos already.

Now all we need are some flowers in our hair. TheseCoconut Flower Headband
are just the right thing. The colors are so tropical and they are made of hand-dyed coconut fiber by women of on the Marshall Islands. Bring a little bit of tropic to your home for a perfect party!

Fresh Friday Finds - try something new

Once in a while (quite frankly too often) the creative bug bites me and I just NEED to start a new craft or make something totally different from my usual wares. That is lots of fun, but tends to totally consummate me since I will want to know everything about it right away and master that craft in no time. Hardly happens because of time restrains and limited funds. The second part is what really gets me!
So right now, I am toying with the idea of meddling with in the arts of something like these here:

This Whimsical Hair Comb is so magical. I love the soft blossom against the aqua feathers. Really special for this summer and would be great with the new haircut I just got. Now making that would be fun! I love working with the glue gun and just coordinating things. I wish I could see the artists studio and all the goodies that it must contain.

Or should I go for the wooden toys! Lilly would love it if I could create a whole forrest of trees and houses and dolls to go with it. My mind is already designing all kinds of creatures and wood is so much fun to work with. This little Mushroom sure is inspirational. Now all I need is the type of saw needed for this...and a few other things. So really - a long shot!

Or maybe start working with clay! Who doesn't want to try this one! it is such a great idea to make Miniature Worlds from clay including the sun. I got a few ideas for molds and patterns for plaques. I know they would be great, but I don't even know where to begin with what clay to get, glazes, and then firing. So this is even a longer shot. Yet, none of these ideas let my mind go and it is getting crowded in there. I guess I have to start writing them down and file them for later use. I know at some point I will be trying these out. Yes, so much to learn, so little time.
I would like to know what projects everyone else is thinking about now. I know it is a common artist ailment!

Fresh Friday Finds: Funny Faces

It's high time for some new Fresh Friday Finds! And I'm so excited to show you all these great amazing creatures.

Can you guess what this is?! YES, a Flava Flava Bunny. Not sure what that is? Well, look at it! Wouldn't it be great for your cell phone, money/coins, mp3 player, credit cards ... just about anything. I love these kinds of little purses and I think I will have to start a collection.

And what about this Mommy and me Brooch! I love the big eyes and French look. Such a neat idea and I keep wondering how they would look with Lilly and my face on them. Pretty funny, hey.

This is one of my favorite pieces right now! A cute littleBaby Elephant Walk Sculpture not only perfect for Lilly's room or mine, but also a great present for my Mom who loves and collects elephants. This one is just so different! I just love how he is squished.
There are so many great critters and creatures out to be found on Etsy. No wonder with all these great minds!

Fresh Friday Finds

Finally a new Fresh Friday Finds! Oh, I have found sooooo many gorgeous things in the time that has past that I don't even know where to start. Then this little rabbit caught my eye and off I am doing a little bit of a whimsical theme today. I just love whimsical with a twist!

So this Rabbit by Klaus Haapaniemi fascinates me with its long neck and ears, intricate design, and purple color. It is full of Finland's mystery and magic.

These Fairy Wings Earrings look so elegant with the swirly curves and matte brass finish. Full of style and whimsy - what else could you ask for?!

And for the last item today, this little Lavender Sachet Pillow . Isn't it just the most unusual you have ever seen? I have never thought about owning a sachet pillow before, but I sure don't know how I'm going to live without this one! :) I love the soft colors and little details.

Fresh Friday Finds

Such elegant and comfy looking Spats! That is the first time I ever heard that word, but I love the entire package already. I know I would feel like a queen in these walking up and down the street!

And here is another one for the enamel lovers e.g. me! This little Necklace reminds me of a porcupine or something. So cute! I actually got to trade with the wonderful seller of the enamel bangles I featured 2 weeks ago. My sister said they already came and I can't wait to see them!!! I'm so happy she actually traded with me so I can own those bangles.

I couldn't believe these little Hand Soaps when I saw them! Creepy at first, but oh so cute! They would be so perfect for a Powder Room. If guests would actually use them? That's the only question I have!

Fresh Friday Finds

I love finding imaginative and cute items like this Pencil Case. It makes me smile every time I look at it (so I'm smiling big time right now ;) And all the proceeds from the sale (minus shipping & handling) will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org). So you can feel good all around getting this little alligator!

Another unbelievable find I made this week (I'm so excited!!) are these Enamel Bracelets. I love, love, love enamel and I love bracelets. So a combination as nice as this here has me jumping off my seat! And there are so many more combinations and colors to choose from in her store. These would look fabulous on my wrist ;)

I used to have this style of Alarm Clock as a kid and just loved it! Always wished I had another. Of course, this one is so much nicer and the graphic is so summery.
Even though it's hard to get up these cold winter days, this alarm clock would sure get me out of bed.

Fresh Friday Finds - Dawanda Edition

This week I spend a lot of time on Dawanda checking out all the goodies over there. So here is a sampling of what I have found.

Isn't this the most unusual and yet so simple conversation Necklace? It is hand carved from shavings from factories. So it is Eco friendly by recycling material. There are several more motifs available, but this one her is my personal favorite.

Now my sister Ina's absolute favorite item on Dawanda hands down is this cute-as-a-button Wallet. The soft colors and cool graphics sure make it stand out in the crowd.

And then I found a little Leather Keychain Accessory myself that is the cutest ever! It's this little raccoon that just looks like it's been caught in the act...of something! Oh, I want to squish it!
So you can see that there are so many cute and interesting items on Dawanda as well that I need to double my budget (if I only could!) to keep up with both Etsy and Dawanda!

Fresh Friday Finds - Dark Blue and Lilac Style

The first ‘Fresh Friday Find’ of the year and oh so much to choose from! So here in a dark blue and lilac theme. Those are my favorite colors right now, because I am still obsessed with and thrilled about my cashmere scarf and hat that are those colors. Need everything to match NOW!This thin Clutch Wallet is so cool. It is just big enough for your essential cards and some cash and yet a lot more stylish to show off at a party or out in the town than your normal wallet. And they do have a lot more prints to choose from. (In case you are not into this color combo - unbelievably so!)

And who can resist the soft qualities of this Jellyfish Photography Print? I always love seeing them in the aquarium and being amazed on how they light up in the dark and just dance around in the water. Unfortunately, when I take those pictures, they never come out like this!

And this Beaded Cube Necklace? really just goes perfectly with my new hat!
I'm always amazed at the intricacies involved in beaded designs and I have actually not seen any cubes made out of beads yet that look so sleek and simple. This must be fun to wear!

Fresh Friday Finds

Oh, I love this Fuzzy Mohair/Cashmere Hat! You know I have been looking for some fingerless gloves the last few weeks. Now a good friend of mine is actually making a pair for me! I got some really cute yarn and can't wait for them to be finished. Now I can move on to finding a great hat to go with those and I think I already found it. I just love the idea of cashmere and mohair and the way this hat is slightly slouchy. Now if I just find someone to give it to me...;)

These Two Turtle Doves Christmas Cards ought to get you in the spirit. The colors, the picture, the message - everything about these cards is so unique that everyone would surely remember receiving them.
Well, of to do more Christmas shopping. Are you done with your list yet?!

Fresh Friday Finds

This was the fastest week ever and I only got a little Etsy shop snooping done! So here are the highlights.

First off, some very dainty and oh so warm looking Knitted Handwarmers. I'm still deciding on a pair of my own. Now I actually got some yarn and a friend of mine is crocheting a pair for me! I can't wait to see how they might come out. Sure was fun talking about the style, size, and length, but I wish I would have seen these here before hand.

Then I saw this cute little Elephant Cup. I am just imagining Lilly seeing it and how she would react. She loves elephants and this one is just so different. Most definitely a conversation piece and so much fun!

And finally, some funky little Fringe Earrings!
I think that this is such a great idea. Never seen it before and can only imaging how great they would dangle and feel. Ahh, so many earrings, so little time!

Fresh Friday Finds

This is the cutest little girl (well, except of Lilly, of course!) that I have ever seen! I'm not much into dolls, but this Art Doll is so darling, that I wish it was standing in my house on the mantel (if I had one). And there are so many other great items in this shop; it is hard to just stay with one. You just have to look at the switch plate covers.

Now for all the princesses and queens obonst us, I found the perfect Ring. While I was still in metalsmithing class, I always wanted to make me a little crown ring to go with my wedding band, but I never really dreamed up a design that would have been doable. Now this one is! I love the form, the little gold accents - all in all, a ring to have and behold!

And I just had to show this little Pink Chickadees Print because it is pink, and they are Chickadees, and I wish it was still summer! Don't they just make you dream about the little birdies chirping at your window sitting on some cherry blossom? That is what I'm dreaming about right now!

Fresh Friday Finds - folksy and whimsical

This week, I'm feeling a bid whimsical. Just started to really like this word and I'm using it everywhere!

first off, I was so excite when I saw this So when I saw this Blue Tower . I love how it is leaning over here and a bid askew over there, but all in all just right. This is something not only Lilly could play with for hours. And there are so many more towers and houses to choose from in this shop that you can build a whole city!

Then I found this cutest of cute hair clip! I thought it is so stylish and elegant and just guess what it is made of---pom pons! And that even makes it cuter! I was looking around to find something appropriate put not totally crazy for Halloween. Well, this is so nice; I would wear it to any party.

This cute and shock-full-of-color Wooden Box so reminded me of the stenciling my mother did on my wardrobe. In Germany, we don't have closets, but we use wardrobes for everything. Mine was blue and painted in a very intricate blue flower motive very similar to this one. Got to love it!

And finally, I had to share these earrings. They are made from actual clock hands! I love how they are not the same and yet a pair. Must be so odd wearing these.
So I hope that made you want to find some whimsical items yourself. Go on, do it right now.
