Treasury Time!

I LOVE this great colorful Treasury!!! It is so cheery and exactly what I need with all the white snow around us here right now. And can you find our contribution to this treasury?...it's the alphabet initials in the center! Check this treasury out on Etsy before it's gone!

Fresh Friday Finds

I have been so busy working on all the new designs; I haven't even gotten any time to browse on Etsy. Can you believe it! Luckily my sister has been hearting a lot of nice things over the week for me to choose from. So here are a few of her favorites.
Isn't this quite amazing?! Ina always finds the best shawls and scarf and this
Cobwebs Shawl Scarf is no exception. Sure to stand out and keep you warm with its color and fiber.

I just love the simple lines of this cute
Baby Elephant Charm. It's so delicate, simple, and striking. This Etsian makes this elephant graphic on fabrics and now as silver charms. I think it is a great idea either way!

And now to the most amazing thing - this
Recycled Milk Gallon Light Sculpture. It is actually made of milk cartons! It looks so intricate and high end. I think I have to get one for one of my customers and they won't believe that they won't tax the environment with this one.

New Treasures in the workings

I'm so excited these days reworking my shops and getting new pictures. But I also have been working on many new designs. One of my new ventures you can have a sneak peek at in this picture. I had these fabulous silks in all colors of the rainbow and my sister started some gorgeous embroidered trees on them. I knew then just the right settings for this unusual jewelry. Little did I know that the type of setting I was thinking of was nowhere to be found in the U.S. I searched the internet and stores for month. Finally I looked on German websites since I last saw these setting in Germany, but even there they seemed to have vanished. Then, totally by coincident, I came across a small firm in Austria that still makes them. I contacted them and they were happy to send all the settings I needed to me not just for my own jewelry, but also to distribute them here in America. Ever since, I have been working on this new collection and I can't wait to open up a new shop to show all the beautiful pieces of jewelry I created. I'm even more so excited that this shop will also offer the settings itself, so that others might unleash their creativity with fabrics, papers, and things I can't even think off. So I really have been busy and I am tickled with excitement! I am hoping to open up this new KAILEA shop in the beginning of the new month.

Handmadeology

With the new year being well on its way and with a few personal resolutions of marketing myself a bit more in my head, I am more than happy to hear about Handmadeology. This site will launch 1.26.09 and help all of us creators of handmade items get a bit more in tune with the marketing aspect of selling. At least that is what my goals are! And no other than Timothy Adams is the teacher of this class on the "Science of Handmade". I am so excited to see what he will do with this class. Already his tips and tricks are so hand on, that this one will be unbelievable. Right now you can even sign up for the free newsletter so you won't miss a beat.

Our new best friend---Stella the Mannequin

It is about time for me to introduce you to Stella, our faithful new mannequin. I am so excited to have her around. She is such a blissful girl with her spiky red hair and swoopy eyelashes. And as you can see, she is always ready for a kiss! From now on, she will be showing off all of our new creations around town and I will try to give you a glimpse into her everyday life with each listing. This should be fun!

Already she is getting excited about Valentine's Day with this Soft Heart Necklace. She is imagining what it would be like to wake up on Valentine’s Day with this necklace around her neck. What a surprise that would be from her sweetheart. Who will be so lucky!

Fresh Friday Finds - Dawanda Edition

This week I spend a lot of time on Dawanda checking out all the goodies over there. So here is a sampling of what I have found.

Isn't this the most unusual and yet so simple conversation Necklace? It is hand carved from shavings from factories. So it is Eco friendly by recycling material. There are several more motifs available, but this one her is my personal favorite.

Now my sister Ina's absolute favorite item on Dawanda hands down is this cute-as-a-button Wallet. The soft colors and cool graphics sure make it stand out in the crowd.

And then I found a little Leather Keychain Accessory myself that is the cutest ever! It's this little raccoon that just looks like it's been caught in the act...of something! Oh, I want to squish it!
So you can see that there are so many cute and interesting items on Dawanda as well that I need to double my budget (if I only could!) to keep up with both Etsy and Dawanda!

When we were in Germany, we found this little Jacket and hat that I used to wear as a child. Now Lilly loved it so much, she had to squeeze in even though she is already to big!

Fresh Friday Finds - Dark Blue and Lilac Style

The first ‘Fresh Friday Find’ of the year and oh so much to choose from! So here in a dark blue and lilac theme. Those are my favorite colors right now, because I am still obsessed with and thrilled about my cashmere scarf and hat that are those colors. Need everything to match NOW!This thin Clutch Wallet is so cool. It is just big enough for your essential cards and some cash and yet a lot more stylish to show off at a party or out in the town than your normal wallet. And they do have a lot more prints to choose from. (In case you are not into this color combo - unbelievably so!)

And who can resist the soft qualities of this Jellyfish Photography Print? I always love seeing them in the aquarium and being amazed on how they light up in the dark and just dance around in the water. Unfortunately, when I take those pictures, they never come out like this!

And this Beaded Cube Necklace? really just goes perfectly with my new hat!
I'm always amazed at the intricacies involved in beaded designs and I have actually not seen any cubes made out of beads yet that look so sleek and simple. This must be fun to wear!

We are back!!!!!

Finally back from Germany! It only has been about 2 weeks but sure feels like forever. Time just seems to move differently when you see different things and do soooo many things every day. And we sure did use our time over there wisely. Every minute was packed and we wasted no time. Of course, now we have to relax, recover and get used to our new (old) surroundings. So more about the trip later. All I can say now is that Lilly was a gem and had so much fun! Just laughing and enjoying herself everywhere. She did not care that she was so far from home and met all these new people. She even liked being on the plane for 15 + hours!!!!

But here are a few pictures of the Christmas market to start. This was our favorite place with all the great lights, music, food, and goodies. Wish we could be there every year...
