So it was Lilly's 2nd birthday yesterday and we didn't even take any pictures! So I have to show you this new pair of Earrings. It reminds me of an old coin collection or a treasure from the bottom of the sea.
Back to Lilly's birthday...I think she had an especially great day! First we did a video call to the great grandparents, then the other pair of great grandparents called, and then we were off to the library for some story time and crafting. She loves to play there and read new books. Then we tried to nap, but since that didn't go over well, we got ready for swimming in the pond. Josh and I went with Lilly and had spent the afternoon in the water and on the beach. And in the evening, both sets of grandparents came to go out for Chinese Buffet. I can say without a doubt that that place is Lilly's favorite right now! She ate so much adamame, rice, noodles, broccoli, mango, and of course ice cream - I really don't know where she put it! Even the waitress said that we will have to pay double for her! So yes, we had a great day!

Silver Plated O Earrings
I am slowly but surely adding silver items to my shop. I have been so captivated by the shine of the gold that my mind couldn't think of designs in silver. Now they are slowly trickling in. First off are these
Oval Earrings in black and white. Very striking and elegant!
On a different note, my parents finally have the closing of their new home tomorrow afternoon. I am so excited for them! This really is a great house and I will show pictures once they are in.

I finally did it and opened up a Facebook fan page! Definitely was a learning curve but now I look forward to posting and populating it. This will be another great way of staying in touch and I will post SECRET SALES more frequently over there. So you really should become a fan - aren't you already LOL!
Also let me know what you think and if you have any great ideas about what else to add. I'd love the input!

Gold and Pink Flower Necklace
I am having more and more fun with all the gold supplies I got to make the most gorgeous and elegant jewelry without the heavy price tag normally associated with gold.
This delicate Necklace is one of my current favorites! The soft pink of the Swarovski crystals make this necklace so feminine and petite. But I just got a few more great charms and gemstones and can't wait to work with them!

New lariat necklace
I have been having so much fun with all the gold jewelry supplies I got! One of my favorite pieces is this lariat type necklace. Never made or wore one before, but these are so easy to wear, they quickly become my favorite. And there are so many ways to wear them.
This one has a hand-blown glass bead with a little black twist on one side and a gold plated long leaf charm and a faceted green Aventurine Briolette on the other. Together they make a very sophisticated necklace.

New Banner - New Items - More Fun
After neglecting my original Katrin Lerman Jewelry shop on Etsy, I have been spending lots of time lately creating new pieces just for this store. They are mostly gold plated modern keepsakes with lots of texture and pattern with splashes of gemstone colors.
I always used to wear only Silver jewelry and found gold to be boring and old fashioned. Then I went to India and couldn't get enough of the gold pieces everyone was wearing. The deep warm color of those pieces as well as the unusual designs totally had me fall in love with gold. And it turns out that it just goes so very nicely with my blond hair!
Back home, it took me quite some time to find anything comparable to the color and style. Now I finally found several sources that had my creative juices running like a river! Even as I sit here, writing about it, I just can't stop thinking about new designs and getting back to my gold covered work bench.
So now I slowly list these new items in my shop in the hopes that others will agree with me that they bring a new spin to gold jewelry that is striking and eye catching. I personally love wearing my very own pieces and have received many compliments. So check back often to find you very own piece of gold!

Custom Starfish Bridal Party Necklace
I have been working on this custom Bridal Party necklace and I really like how it came out. It all started with an idea of a large center starfish and many, many strands of tiny blue seed beads from the customer. We then worked it into this stunning black and white necklace with a single strand of large nuggets. They are much more in keeping with the beach and rocks and stones and appear elegant, yet beach easy. I just sent it to my customer and hope she loves it as much as I do. I would love to see them on her bridesmaids in their beautiful dresses on her wedding day. Maybe I get so see some pictures!

Nature abound
I created this custom necklace for a fellow Etsian Jewelry Designer. Love her work
and was happy to hear that she was interested in a custom piece from me. She send me all these small and precious items - there are shells, small pine cones, wood, ... Just amazing how many beautiful tiny things there are in nature! It was tricky working with them because I was afraid I could break something. Luckily everything stayed save! She also wanted it oxidized. I normally don't do that to my pieces, but I am happy how it came out. Just lets the individual pieces shine and not the silver.
I had so much fun making this special pendant with items that already have a history with its owner. Can't wait to do more!!!

New pieces in the works
I have been quite busy getting back to work part-time :( and having my cousin over from Germany. Hence no posts from me the last few days. Sorry. But I did find some time to work on new jewelry pieces. I'm especially excited about a bangle bracelet I just finished. It looks so good and feels great when worn. I dangled several beautiful deep colored Purple Amethysts and light and bright Aqua Chalcedony Briolette from the frame. You could play with them forever! I would love to show you a picture now, but my cousin took the camera with her on a tour of Boston. So you have to wait until I have it back and list the item!

Joy to the Fishies!!!
I finally was able to list another creation of mine. I finished these Earrings a few days ago, but it was just so cold each night and I had so much else to do, that I didn't get to put them up. Now here they are and I really like their whimsical look. Just having the oval picture frame and little swirl in the center I think is neat. Just looking at them I can think of many more ways to add something special to those centers. This one has Amethyst and Citrine beads in the center . They remind me of little fishies with long curly tales - hence the name!

Lemon Drop Pendant
I finished another pendant - Lemon Drop! Always feels like setting another baby in the world. Well, not quite. This one is the pendant I posted a progress photo of on Wordless Wednesday. See what a difference a little (LOL) wire and silver beads makes. This one reminds me of calligraphy or something. Even a little hat. It's like one of those ink pictures everyone reads something else into. So what do you see in this one :)

New Chandelier Earrings!
I realized that I did not make anything with a green stone yet. Green is my least favorite color. So it's not a surprise to me! Then I found these lovely Lemon Smoky Quartz Heart Briolettes and just had to use them right away in these Green Fortune Earrings. The facets on them are just amazing. I also added Peridot to make it really appear green. These earrings are nice and long. It's so cool how they jingle agains your neck. I always thing it's the best when you can really feel the earrings you are wearing. Plus, I have long hair so the chandelier earrings are the only ones people would actually see on me. I also made this frame out of 2 parts for even more movement. Don’t know if I will be able to part with these and I don't even like green!

New Post Earrings!
I finished some really neat Swirly Curl Earrings yesterday. They also have a post and just look so elegant! My mother LOVES these. Now I have to make her a similar pair. She has very short hair. So my chandelier earrings just don't look good on her, but these really do. I don't even remember why I started this design. It sort of just appeared out of the wire. These I also would be willing to do with your choice of stone. Maybe I even do something similar without any gemstone. Let's see.

New Item: Note Cards!
I finally received my first Note Cards and listed them yesterday! I'm very excited to offer these and think that they would be so great to use when you just have to send a little note to someone. People had been commenting on how great my photographs that I took of my jewelry looks that I thought I should offer them for sale. The theme of my photographs is inspired by my jewelry and the treasures that I collect on my travels. Of course, I could also have them printed at any size if someone would like them as a picture to hang. This is just the first card. More to come!

100 and 1 Night Necklace
Yesterday I finished another Necklace. I think it is one of the most womanly I have done. It was giving me quite a headache on the way though. First, I wanted to make a pair of chandelier earrings with that swirl, but then the bail broke off and I had to start all over. At that point, I did not want to make earrings anymore. You know, the perils with earrings is that you have to make two! So here it is as a pendant. I might make a similar pair of earrings one day, but probably not too soon. This in progress picture shows how far I had gotten with it before it broke. That's what happens if you bend the wire too many times. The molecules in the silver get bunched up and it becomes brittle. Now interestingly enough, if I would have heated up the piece after working and bending it for a while, the molecules would have relaxed again and this would not have happened. But hey, I love to work extra!

New cute pendant!
Today I finished this lovely pendant. I call it Window to my Heart. I showed off the progress picture yesterday and this now is the end result. I love how cute, and delicate this one came out. Looks so dainty on the neck. I even had time to start another pair of chandelier earrings. My baby girl has been in such good spirits the last few days that I got to do more work than ever! Let's see if that keeps up.

New Earrings!
I just listed these small post earrings. I know it has been a few days. I'm busy working on getting the word out there about my work. But finally had to make more jhewelry instead of sitting in front of the computer all the time. I'm also working on this pendant and I think it is coming out beautifully. So cute and the heart briolette is just stunning in its color. But back to these earrings. They are very calming to look at with its pale color and soft movement. These are great for everyday wear!

Simply Fancy New Pendant
I listed this swooping new Simply Fancy Pendant yesterday. I love the elegant clean lines on this one with just the right amount of drama. This is also a smaller piece. I guess I should make a big and bold pendant next. It's funny, my earrings have been huge and my pendants small lately. Just realized that. Got to mix it up!
