I Want Candy!

I got to stop looking at this pendant I finished today and just listed on Etsy. It makes me soooooo hungry and I got no good candy in the house. I think that this one looks quite different to my other pendants so far. It is almost a bit dangerous. It would be interesting to know what otters think, so please leave comments if you you a strong feeling either way. Everyone else hungry?

Feature Artist - Kalicat

I LOVE jewelry! I hope everyone who makes jewelry also loves wearing them. And I love how Kalicat's creations have a certain cuteness to them bringing out the little girl in all of us. I especially like the Blum Blum sterling silver Stud Earrings. Those would also be great for my baby girl. Kalicat is a trained jeweler who says about herself that she: "keeps sane by painting and illustrating Fashion, jewelry-making and dreaming about all the things I will create in the near future". My other favorite is this Sunshine Flower Ring. It looks so stylish and should really bring a smile to everyone's face. Well, if I keep looking, I have to buy something myself!

Feeling the Ocean Breeze

I finally finished this pair of 'Ocean Breeze' Earrings. It took me a few days. Earrings are always so heard because after finishing one, you still have to make another and get it to match the first. Quite tricky! Then I also have been busy working on my website and getting another shop up and running on Etsy. This one is a collaboration between me and my sister. Very exciting and I can't wait to get some pieces up there. Don't want to surprise yet though!!! These earrings, I think, are my favorite so far. I felt like a million bucks when I put them on. They dangle so nicely and are surprisingly light weight.

Today I found this beautiful little shop where I suddenly felt like I was in South America! But it turns out the artist behind all the pieces in this shop is from New Jersey. Fancy that! She has a degree in Fine Arts and calls herself a packrack by nature. I think that most artists are. I now try to clean my place out once in a while or I won't be able to find a thing! Back to the subject... She offers so many bamboo pendants with different designs on them that I don't think you will have trouble finding just the right one for yourself! My personal favorite are these 8 Travel Pendants
She does, however, also work in mixed media arts and those little collages are what drew me into her shop. Keep it up!

Feature Artist: Dream On!

Mary, the artist behind Dream On!, is like me - an artist by heart who has been doing art all her life. You can see in the diversity of her paintings and watercolors that she likes to commit to paper all the beauty around her. She says about her style that she "value(s) the presence of a recognizable subject in (her) paintings. (She) love(s) it when the center of interest appears in the midst of background objects that aren’t so well-defined". She further states: "I want watercolor to look like watercolor, and I want my paintings to have a painterly look, not a photographic copy. Therefore I am an impressionist, because I don’t want to over-control the media". While I was looking at the variety in her shop, i could not stop clicking one painting after another because each and every one of them has such a unique subject matter and is executed in a different style. With all that to choose from, the hard part is to decide which on to take! You have to see them all.

Now being a jeweler myself, I just love Ann's beadweaving designs. Her specialty are seed beads, but she also has some items that are made of gemstones. I love this The Red Road Less Traveled Freeform Peyote Bracelet. And she has so many other designs that are just as interesting. Most of her pieces are one of a kind, just like mine, saying that: "I never make another item exactly the same. It's not as interesting the second time". I totally understand!

Always wanted a customized Welcome Sign for your Home? I found the store for you. The owner of Coconut Palm Designs (I love the name) is currently living in Belize, Central America and you can practically feel the sun and ocean in her signs. I wish I could be there right now since snow is piling up here in New England and I'm really just a summer child. I'm trying to get my husband to move someplace a whole lot warmer!
Joanne is graphic designer by trade, but says of herself that; "Sign making has turned into a great outlet for my creative energies and finally I am using my graphic design training for something exciting".

Feature Artist - Lost Mitten

Lost Mitten is a fun and colorful shop! If you are looking for something different for that geek in your family or among your friends - look no further. Lauren, the artist behind 'Lost Mitten' works in several media. One of them is creating coasters made from Perler beads, showing all her favorites from the video games she LOVES to play. She even says that she is a "huge video game addicts" and is "continually inspired by (her) love for video games in creating many of (her) original crafts".
I myself like her paper finished buttons the best. Using all the different Chiyogami Yuzen and Japanese Washi Papers is a great idea and would surely add great color to any fabric project. But that is not all Lauren is working on. She also loves to knit, crochet, create journals and other paper goods, as well as needlepoint, acrylic felt creations, pinback buttons, and jewelry. I know how that is! Even though I now try to stir away from that urge to start a new craft every time I see something I like, I do have way too many supplies for way too many crafts already. I will never find enough time to try all of them. I'm happy for her though to be able to work on all of her chosen crafts so beautifully.

Hanging Moons Necklace

I finished my Smoky Quartz Pendant today and just listed it. My husband really, really likes this on. He almost wanted to wear it himself! It's amazing how everyone has a different favorite of my pieces. I always show them to everyone around as soon as I finish them and I get a different response to all of them. My sister, for example, really loves the Snow Queen Earrings and now my husband this necklace. I can't wait until my baby girl is big enough to tell me what she likes!
