This week, I'm feeling a bid whimsical. Just started to really like this word and I'm using it everywhere!
first off, I was so excite when I saw this So when I saw this Blue Tower . I love how it is leaning over here and a bid askew over there, but all in all just right. This is something not only Lilly could play with for hours. And there are so many more towers and houses to choose from in this shop that you can build a whole city!
Then I found this cutest of cute hair clip! I thought it is so stylish and elegant and just guess what it is made of---pom pons! And that even makes it cuter! I was looking around to find something appropriate put not totally crazy for Halloween. Well, this is so nice; I would wear it to any party.
This cute and shock-full-of-color Wooden Box so reminded me of the stenciling my mother did on my wardrobe. In Germany, we don't have closets, but we use wardrobes for everything. Mine was blue and painted in a very intricate blue flower motive very similar to this one. Got to love it!
And finally, I had to share these earrings. They are made from actual clock hands! I love how they are not the same and yet a pair. Must be so odd wearing these.
So I hope that made you want to find some whimsical items yourself. Go on, do it right now.

Salem - the place to be for Halloween
This weekend we went to Salem. Of course you have to go there for Halloween with the Haunted Happenings and Pumpkin Festival. This totally puts you in the Halloween spirit. There were sooo many people in the street as you can see in the pictures. And all the museums - like the Salem Witch Museum - are full to the rim. I guess everyone was here! So many people were quite creative with their costumes. We saw the Ghostbusters, and a beautiful fallen angel. Lot's of people also spotted witch hats and devil horns. But for us, most of them were too scary ;) to take pictures of. Just this little Red Riding Hood seemed friendly enough to take a picture of...and this witch because it was tied to a mast and we thought how could she get us this way!
We really had a lot of fun and the weather was nice for a change. In the end though, I had to put my sister in this device for not finishing the 500 embroidery pieces I had asked her for this week! I hope she learnt her lesson. hihi.

More jewelry for Halloween
Oh, time is running out and I still have 2 more fun and scary (not really!) necklaces to finish for Halloween. My sister is having so much fun with creating Halloween patches and I just haven't kept up finishing them into necklaces.
Here are 2 laid out in the way I would arrange them on the cord. Better get them done this weekend! Can you see what they are?! Go check under comments to see if you were right!

Fresh Friday Finds - getting ready for the colder months!
Every year, when the weather gets colder, I start to think about what I could do to make the house cozier. We are outside all through the summer, but now it’s just getting too cold and so the house needs some updating. First, I always like to add some more pictures to my walls. There are still too many empty ones in my home.
So when I saw this Papercut Print, I was not only intrigued by the intricate pattern, but also by how much it reminded me of the German papercuts I used to see at home. So this one would be perfect to add a very cozy feeling to the house.
This little Unicorn Pincushion is so darling! It would be such a great conversation piece if put just in the right place. And talk about cozying things up - how cozy is this! Of course, I should be able to just make one myself, put this one is so perfect already; who could resist!
And one just for myself! Hey, the house is not the only thing that needs a makeover! I also like to get something new just for myself when the weather tips and I had been fascinated with this shop for the longest time. These Horn Earrings have such nice movement to them and look so elegant. I have long hair, love big earrings, but have a hard time finding elegant ones that are also lightweight. These sure seem perfect not only for these reasons. So who is going to get them for me?!

Now you can get Kaleidoscope Style embroidered felt necklaces, bracelets & ornaments at Oak in Boston!
The other day I had an appointment with the owner of OAK, a handmade clothing & gifts store in Boston right off of Newbury Street. I brought in some embroidered felt necklaces and bracelets as well as some of our Holiday ornaments. It was my first store appointment, but it went very well and the owner was so nice and really like our items. Great to actually see someone handle our pieces and not just work on online orders. She took several necklaces and bracelets and also quite a few ornaments. Those she put up for display while I was still there! So if you live in the area, you can now go down to Newbury Street, take a little stroll and take a peek in this store to see our pieces in person. This store really has some very nice items, btw. I was tempted to buy several!
Next, I want to send out some rack cards to stores like this on. I created these here in Photoshop and ordered them from Vistaprint. They are the oversized postcards. What do you think?! Let's see if they are catchy enough for stores to respond to and set up a meeting with me. You just can appreciate all the intricate detail of the embroidery so much more when you see it in person.

Fresh Friday Finds
At this time of the year, I am stuck between longing for summer and being on the lookout for Christmas presents! So here we go with today’s Fresh Friday Finds.
Lately I have caught myself searching for hand carved stamps on Etsy for hours. They just have such a warm feel to them and I am always amazed about the designs and simple details incorporated. This Tiny Cherry Blossom Rubber Stamp sure is one that has me longing for summer big time. I so loved how Lilly just walked up to every flower trying to smell it. Well, she actually tried to blow it since she thought every flower is a dandelion, but that just made it even more special. Now with the colder months approaching, it's time to get some hand carved stamps and start all those scrap booking projects.
And on to more cozy things...I am definitely in need of some Fingerless Gloves this winter! Every time I get regular gloves and then never wear them because they are just too impractical for me. So when I saw all the fingerless gloves on Etsy, I knew I needed a pair. Now it's just about figuring out which one to get. This one is my current favorite. I love the soft colors and intricate pattern. Should I stop looking?!
Now back to some more summer fun! Remember the kites circling in the air? I do! And this Paper Airplane Necklace somehow reminds me of that. Such a neat idea ... and also a great holiday present to wear next summer ; )

It's time for Halloween accessories! Here is the first necklace...
All that playing around with Lilly and the carved pumpkin bucket finally got my sister started doing some Halloween motives. And they just came out too cute...and scary!!!
Here is the first Necklace with the fullest pumpkin and 2 airy ghosts flying around them. Who is going to get it?
I can't wait to get working on the 3 little pumpkin bracelet and the ghost and pumpkin pins or brooches. And I will post them as soon as they are finished. The seasons are just so much more appreciated with little accessories like these!

Wordless Wednesday: Can we go trick or treat already?!
Well Lilly is ready to trick or treat!!! She loves her little pumpkin bucket and I can only guess how much she will love it once it is filled with goodies on Halloween! We all had soooo much fun at our visit in New Jersey and Lilly really excelled playing with her big cousin. I can't even say how many new words, games, and even songs she now knows. We really have to do this more often!

Road Trip!!!
Lilly got a new cousin and we are visiting him right now! His name is Ezra and he is soooo cute. Already has a full set of hair and looks all smooth and grown up. I made a little stuffed animal for him and then also one for his sister Maya. Remember the stuffed monster I made for Lilly? Well I said I would make more for the rest of the family and here we go - a little doggy for Ezra and a cat for Maya. Maya is 3 years old and loved her little cat and started playing with her right away.
So we will be here for the long weekend and maybe I have some pictures for you afterwards! So long...

Fresh Friday Finds - Just for my sister
My sister is thinking about getting an iPod for Christmas this year as a present from her boyfriend. (I know, they start early getting ready) I think she is really excited about the idea and called me the other day all out of breath. She said that she had a GREAT idea for our shop - making fun and elegant embroidered felt iPod holders! Of course it is a fantastic idea, but I don't think we will be getting to it by Christmas. My other sister and I have sooo many ideas and project right now that we just can't add another. So I did a search for her on Etsy just to see what would come up. I will need a present for her as well after all! So here are some of my favorites, but which one do you like little sis?!
Well, this one is my personal favorite with the Wise ol Owl and Denim iPod Sleeve. So cute how the owl looks all flirty. And I also love the little heart button to close the sleeve and keep your mp3 player save.
Now here is a Poppy Camera or Ipod Case that is very classy. It is so elegant and yet whimsical with the wristlet.
I also love this little Geisha Tote. It is very striking, unique, and just something a little different. This one also would work for your cell phone and important cards. That's what I would need a little tote for. During the summer, I just don't feel like taking my wallet along. What I do is taking all the important cards out and put them in a little case with my cell phone and keys. This one would be perfect for that.
